This katana is signed Bizen Osafune Sukesada and sits in very good quality Kai-Gunto mounts. The blade I believe to be Muromachi period, a common sugata and smith for the period, it is not uncommon to see older blades in military mounts. The mounts steal the show for me, good quality shark skin covered saya and all matching tsuba and seppa along with a Company grade sword knot. all parts fit perfectly, no doubt they where shapped as a package to fit this sword, the seppa will only go on one way, always a strong indication of a good fit.
This blade is not in good polish and there are some ware here and there, there is also a ding just down from kissaki in the Ha, I have no doubt the sword would polish up well, it is sat in a que to have polished but the que is long and it is still enjoyable as it is.
