A Katana with Ken-Maki-Ryu Horimono and gorgeous Kinsuji activity,
with old NBTHk Tokubetsu Kicho certificate attributed to Aizu Kanesada (会津兼定)
The Kanesada smith group of Aizu area (today’s Western Fukujima prefecture).
The 4th generation Kanesada of Mino migrated to the Aizu area, after that the smithline continued their work all the way until the 11th generation (Meiji period).
As shown in the photos, this particular blade is no doubt one of the top level work delivered by the smith. It’s such a finely forged flawless blade with absolute stunning Kin-suji activities that run across the entire blade.
This katana also has a very well carved Ken-Maki-Ryu style Horimono on the Omote side, which make this blade even more gorgeous than how it already was.
